I choose to be of the Kingdom of God not the kingdom of this world. I elect to showcase Christ’s power, his supreme worldview, his sovereign paradigm: I choose to lace my tongue with his language, to fill my mind and my mouth with his ideas , to acknowledge that his power runs through my hands and feet. I choose to live for the benefit of many and the applause of only one. I choose to speak the truth, to allow the truth to twinge in my sinews as I stand at attention and at ease.

As I pound these streets, I refuse to be intimidated, I refuse to allow fear to rule my mouth, refuse to let it move, dilute, erase or paralyse my limbs , mind , ministry or destiny. I choose to be governed by a God who is sovereign – who governs supremely in many capacities- who is love. I choose to be fuelled by faith – the beautiful and pending realities that I cannot yet see. In this world that seeks to lay a canopy of oppression over our heads, that gives prognosis of what someone of our race, age, gender, class, medical history, educational resumé, family set up, mental health background or foreground, should be able to achieve. I stand as an anomaly.

I stand with a growing number of anomalies that are swiftly becoming significant minorities and which are before our very eyes turning into positive majorities. I rip the canopy of oppression off of me. And in its place I hang up the songs that my supernatural Jesus speaks into the trembling blackness and sings over me in the night. Those songs of deliverance. That tell me who I am , that tell me who he is – that tell me what we can do together. I immerse my mind in the supernatural. In this age and culture that either fictionalises or mocks the supernatural, I stitch it into my garments as reality.

I wear the supernatural all day. The supernatural is compressed like a coil in the spring of my step. I am ready for everything that comes my way, equipped to deal with integrity with anything that knocks on my door. I can do all things through Christ who is my strength, Jesus who is my saviour, the Lord God, my power, my revelation, my compass, my guide. Amen .
